Barbara Bruns

Barbara is a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Global Development and former lead education economist at the World Bank, where she specialised in Latin American education and rigorous evaluation of education programmes. As the first manager of the $14 million Spanish Impact Evaluation Fund (SIEF) at the World Bank from 2007 to 2009, she oversaw the launch of more than fifty rigorous impact evaluations of health, education, and social protection programs. Barbara has also served on the Education Task Force appointed by the UN Secretary General in 2003.
